In 2018 the Old Vine Project (OVP) launched the Certified Heritage Vineyards seal that members can place on bottles of wine made from vineyards of 35 years or older, together with the planting date. The certification seal is a world first and guarantees authentic wines grown according to the OVP viticultural and winemaking guidelines.
In 2014 we identified the vineyard and registered it with the Old Vine Project. Since 2015 we have been managing the Baruch vineyard that is located within the town of Rawsonville. We made the decision to manage and care for this vineyard alongside the vineyard owner.
A lot of care is taken during pruning and suckering to promote new growth and prevent any damage to the main structure of the plant. Also, just as important is maintaining the nutritional health of the plant by improving the soil health. Every year the vineyard grows stronger and more balanced. The sense of place of old vineyards is just extraordinary.
